I have way too many books, movies, and CD's.

I'm interested to know what everyone's favorites (of their own) are and why.

To get things started I'll list my favorites.

In no order at all:

Books:
Fight Club - Palahniuk - Things need to change. This book says why.
Maus - Spiegelman - The first comic to make me cry.
Cryptonomicon - Stephenson - Beautifully well written historical fiction about early computers and code breaking.
The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress - Heinlien - A great "overthrowing a failing or harmful government" book.
Transmetropolitan - Ellis - This is a great comic series that's in trades now. It's like Hunter S. Thompson in the future...but better. If you've got a screwed up sense of humor you'll like it a lot.

Movies:
The Boondock Saints - Awesome "good guys kill all the bad guys" movie with some catholic dogma thrown in for good measure. Also has Willem Defoe in drag.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Amazing sci-fi romantic-comedy-drama.
Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai - This movie just kicks ass.
Shaun of the Dead - Romantic comedy with zombies. You can't go wrong.
Band of Brothers - This is one of the best things to come from TV. The only reason the book isn't on my list is I haven't finished reading it yet.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? - The story is great and the soundtrack just makes me happy.

CD's:
I haven't even thought about this at all...I'll fill this in later when I've looked at my CD's. I can't remember the names of any of the albums I like.
